Information families enter
Families may enter:
- Parent and caregiver profile names, email addresses, optional phone numbers, and hashed profile PINs.
- Child profile names, optional email addresses, avatar choices, age group, and hashed profile PINs.
- Chores, schedules, rewards, Chore Bucks balances, wallet entries, badges, activity events, completion notes, family requests, and optional chore proof photos.
How information is used
Information entered into ChoreRally is used to operate the app, including showing chores, approvals, wallet history, rewards, child profiles, family activity, helper progression, and parent review of chore photo proof.
Website, support, and release-link requests
The ChoreRally website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, cookies, or a hosted form database. A release-link request opens the visitor's email app with a message addressed to ChoreRally.
If a visitor sends an email, ChoreRally receives the sender's email address and whatever information the sender chooses to include. The release-link action does not request child names, child contact details, PINs, household exports, or household photos.
Contact information is used to reply, provide the requested official App Store link, investigate reported problems, and improve the product. A sender may ask for their contact record to be removed by emailing support@chorerally.com.
Parent controls
Parents can edit child profiles and reset child PINs. The household owner can invite a family member through Apple's private sharing sheet when iCloud continuity is enabled. Parents can also export or restore a JSON family record and delete their account or household data according to their role. Family record exports include structured profiles, chores, rewards, wallet entries, badges, redemptions, requests, and activity. Household photos are included only when the parent explicitly turns that option on before export.
Data collection and services
ChoreRally does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking SDKs, real-money banking services, or payment processors.
When a parent turns on optional iCloud continuity, family profiles (including optional caregiver phone numbers), chores, rewards, Chore Bucks history, badges, requests, activity, and household photos selected for continuity are stored in a private CloudKit household zone. The owning Apple Account controls that zone and can send a private family invitation link. Profile PINs are excluded from the cloud copy.
Without iCloud continuity, chore proof photos remain only in the app's private local storage. With continuity enabled, proof photos can be included in the private family share so an invited parent can review them on another Apple device. ChoreRally requests camera access only when a family member chooses a camera feature.
Local storage, notifications, App Store billing, and optional iCloud continuity are provided through Apple platform services. ChoreRally does not sell family data, share it with advertising or data-broker partners, or use an advertising, analytics, or third-party behavioral tracking SDK. Apple platform services handle data under Apple's privacy and security terms.
Children
ChoreRally is intended for family use under parent supervision. Child profiles are restricted and accessed with a parent-created PIN. Parents are responsible for creating and managing child profiles, deciding what information to enter, and reviewing chores and rewards. Child profiles cannot change family, reward, approval, backup, or sync settings.
Virtual currency
Chore Bucks are virtual family points only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money through ChoreRally.
Notifications
ChoreRally can schedule local device reminders for dated chores and displays family activity inside the app. Notification permission can be changed in iOS Settings. Remote marketing notifications are not used in the current release.
Retention and deletion
Local household data remains on a device until it is deleted in ChoreRally, the app's data is cleared, or the app is removed. Local and synced proof photos remain until the related proof, chore, child profile, account, or household is deleted.
When iCloud continuity is enabled, the private family zone remains in the owning Apple Account's iCloud until the household owner deletes the ChoreRally account and household. A caregiver who is not the owner can delete their own account, local copy, and shared household access without deleting the owner's family.
In the app, a parent opens More > Settings > Account & Privacy > Delete ChoreRally Account. The app verifies the parent PIN, explains the permanent impact, removes connected iCloud data before local data, and displays a completion confirmation. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; the same screen links to Apple's subscription manager without making cancellation a condition of deletion. Help for a parent who cannot access the app is available on the account deletion page.
