Information families enter
Families may enter:
- Parent and caregiver profile names, email addresses, and hashed profile PINs.
- Child profile names, optional email addresses, avatar choices, age group, and hashed profile PINs.
- Chores, schedules, rewards, Chore Bucks balances, wallet entries, badges, activity events, completion notes, family requests, and optional chore proof photos.
How information is used
Information entered into ChoreRally is used to operate the app, including showing chores, approvals, wallet history, rewards, child profiles, family activity, helper progression, and parent review of chore photo proof.
Website, support, and release-link requests
The ChoreRally website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, cookies, or a hosted form database. A release-link request opens the visitor's email app with a message addressed to ChoreRally.
If a visitor sends an email, ChoreRally receives the sender's email address and whatever information the sender chooses to include. The release-link action does not request child names, child contact details, PINs, household exports, or household photos.
Contact information is used to reply, provide the requested official App Store link, investigate reported problems, and improve the product. A sender may ask for their contact record to be removed by emailing support@chorerally.com.
Parent controls
Parents can edit child profiles, reset child PINs, invite a caregiver with a family code when cloud sync is enabled, export or restore a JSON family record, and delete their account and household data. Family record exports include structured profiles, chores, rewards, wallet entries, badges, redemptions, requests, and activity. Photo files are not embedded in JSON backups.
Data collection and services
ChoreRally does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking SDKs, real-money banking services, or payment processors.
When optional cloud sync is enabled, a parent verifies their email with a six-digit code. Family profiles, chores, rewards, Chore Bucks history, badges, requests, activity, and submitted proof photos are then transmitted to a ChoreRally Supabase project so approved family members can use the household on another device. Supabase provides email authentication, database, realtime, and private object-storage infrastructure for this feature.
Without cloud sync, chore proof photos remain in the app's private local storage. With cloud sync, required proof is also uploaded to a private family-scoped bucket so an authorized parent can review it on another device. ChoreRally requests camera access only when a child takes fresh proof for a chore that requires it.
Local storage and notifications are provided by the device operating system. Supabase processes cloud-sync data under its own privacy and security terms.
Children
ChoreRally is intended for family use under parent supervision. Child profiles are restricted and accessed with a parent-created PIN. Parents are responsible for creating and managing child profiles, deciding what information to enter, and reviewing chores and rewards. Child profiles cannot change family, reward, approval, backup, or sync settings.
Virtual currency
Chore Bucks are virtual family points only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money through ChoreRally.
Notifications
ChoreRally can schedule local device reminders for dated chores and displays family activity inside the app. Notification permission can be changed in iOS or Android device settings. Remote marketing notifications are not used in the current release.
Retention and deletion
Local household data remains on a device until it is deleted in ChoreRally, the app's data is cleared, or the app is removed. Local and synced proof photos remain until the related proof, chore, child profile, account, or household is deleted.
When cloud sync is enabled, synced family data remains in the ChoreRally Supabase project until the household owner deletes the account and household. A caregiver who is not the owner can remove their own account and access without deleting the owner's family.
A parent can start deletion at the bottom of Household Settings. An external deletion request can also be made through the account deletion page. Support may request enough information to identify the parent account, but will never ask for a child PIN or proof photo.
